TiVo offering TV shows, streaming movies and shopping A Scam?

Following on from its deal with netflix to supply streaming movies on TiVo players, TiVo has now will be launching home shopping services from your TV soon.

 This move comes as TiVo seeks to position its product as more than just a tv recorder. Other new services include interactive games and information services along with online TV shows and movie content.

 Boss of TiVo Robbee Minicola said that TiVo users will be able to use a wide range of internet services which will include grocery and food shopping. Even the ability to order pizzas by March of 2009.
 

 Whilst the free movie downloads may be enticing viewers, one possible concern is consumers incurring large download fees from their internet service providers.
 

Online TV has always been fantastic to an ever growing chip of internet tv fans but its tentacles are getting into mainstream media more with every day that passes.
 A new show to be airy on the Yahoo!7 website known as ‘That’s Why You’re Single’ puts a group of contestants in front of dating experts, they will coach the inauspicious reject on how to find love. Topics discussed will include their dress-sense and important issues such as when to sleep with a new love interest.
 

 She said that:- ‘Online TV is coming into its own, reside can watch content on their mobiles and laptops.Dating shows can either do really well or tank. If you can get the show up online and really get it set up and get a following, then it would be less of a risk for tv networks.
 

The dating show will be shown in five minute instalments each day.
The internet is the future for television according to Neon Pictures Peter Taylor. His product company is currently developing six shows for online TV. He said ‘If you look at the marketing rags, the trade magazines, there is a definite trend for traditional television audiences migrating to online. If you reckon the reports, in three age it is going to be really noticeable and in 10 years online could just take over.
