When I was still deciding whether or not I should begin using deionized water, I had plenty of factors to take into account.  I was advised to weigh the advantages and disadvantages and see for myself what benefits it could do to me.

Deionized water is a type of pure water that has taken out toxins from water by means of eliminating mineral ions from the water.  The procedure, however, is not able to remove viruses and bacteria from water.  This type of water, owing to the nature of its decontamination, has its own set of limitations and advantages.

1. It allows me to save on soap for dish and clothes washing.  When it is being used with a softener, deionized water can be quite effective in dishes and clothes by using reduced amount of soap.

2. It is rather useful in testing soil makeup or industrial pollutants.  Since it has no contaminants, the tendency of giving incorrect reading is drastically reduced.

3. It is very perfect for window washing businesses.  Ordinary tap water leaves deposits due to impurities.  And, these residues cause the glass to have stains that are very hard to take away regardless of how much washing is done.  With deionized water, given that it does not have impurities, windows at all times appear sparkling clean after rinsing.  This is also true for cleaning optical lenses surfaces.

4. It is perfect for manufacturing processes that require the application of water that does not readily react with chemicals.  It can be utilized for the cooling system in PCs because it hampers proliferation of bacteria being caused by buildup of residue.

5. It is also ideal as an ingredient in makeup.  Since it is considered to be without impurities, using it would guarantee that harmful reactions are prevented.
